Scripture Song of Revelation 1:8

“I Am Alpha and Omega”

Commentary on Revelation 1:8

by Living Faith Fellowship

When asked by the people who it was that sent Moses, God said, "Tell them I AM hath sent thee." It is enough to know that God has said He is, and to trust in Him as the Beginning and Ending of all things.

There was a very young girl who became obsessed with the question, "Where did God come from?" Though she was hardly old enough even to express it, the seemingly unanswerable and unending nature of this question left her almost literally dizzy, as if on an unending mental merry-go-round.

After many years, God's spirit spoke to the spirit of this child - now in early adulthood - saying, in effect, "Just begin with God; don't try to look behind. Build on the foundation that I AM, which you know is true, and then go on from there." With that the tormenting merry-go-round came to a stop, never to start again. That young girl, deeply impacted by God's Spirit, became the one who set to music these many Scripture songs.
