Scripture Song of Revelation 14:7

“Fear God And Give Glory To Him”

Commentary on Revelation 14:7

by Living Faith Fellowship

Scripture says that God delights in judgment (Jer. 9:24), but also tells us that He gets no pleasure from punishing the wicked (Ezek. 33:11). He judges evil because his nature is consumingly righteous and just; but at the same time, his nature is also infinitely merciful. Even as God's justice requires Him to punish sin, his mercy works to shield sinners from his own righteous wrath.

The same God who sent the Flood provided the Ark, and offered all people an opportunity to take refuge in it. The same God who prescribed the death penalty for sin chose to suffer that penalty Himself in the person of Jesus Christ. Those who fear Him will run into the refuge He has prepared, before the hour of his judgment arrives.
